Model & connections
The Fosi Audio DS1 combines a USB DAC and headphone amplifier around an ESS ES9038Q2M chipset. It connects to a digital source through USB-C and offers separate 3.5 mm single-ended and 4.4 mm balanced headphone sockets.
The model supports PCM up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512 with suitable playback software and host support. It takes power from the connected USB device and has no internal battery.
Before you connect
Use a compatible USB audio connection; some Android devices need OTG enabled. Select DS1 as the computer audio output. Lightning devices require a compatible Lightning-to-USB-C OTG connection. Use a correctly terminated balanced cable for the 4.4 mm output, not a 3.5 mm adapter. DSD512 requires Native mode and compatible software.
