What to check on used cables and accessories

Exact fit before appearance

Match both ends of a cable, connector layout, termination and required length. For cases, pads and adapters, confirm the precise compatible model or dimensions. A familiar plug size alone is not enough to establish compatibility.

Wear and completeness

Inspect cable sheath, strain relief, plugs and any visible oxidation or repairs. Check that modular plugs, adapters and other promised pieces are included. Substantial cosmetic damage should be described explicitly, not left to a grade.

Skin-contact and power accessories

Read the disclosed condition and cleaning or replacement status of tips and pads; do not assume they are unused. For power accessories, confirm voltage, polarity and the exact device requirements before connecting. Ask about a specific part through Find This Model.
